Mercy is a kiss a$$ female who is a walker. She gets involved in werewolf problems because she's too stubborn to keep out. I really like her stubbornness and the way her mind works.

I did a re-read of this book because a group of lovely ladies and I have to say it was still a great book. I was happy to read it again. This is quite an interesting read. It took me forever to finish. The world building is good, but all the lengthy descriptions of the pack behavior and everything about werewolves in general were sometimes boring reading. But maybe there is no more need for any of that in the next book, since everything is already explained. The vampires were really scary. I'm used to more romantic type vampires like Sookie Stackhouse or the Night Huntress series. The storyline was good, but even with just under ...more

I was a little unsure in the beginning, but once I hit around page 60, this really picked up and I enjoyed it. A very interesting cast of characters, and I like this strange, and scary world. I'm looking forward to more of Stefano, Zee, Warren...and hopefully ADAM! I like Samuel, but I don't like him like that :P
