Damn sad-ass book. Ok so yeah, I pretty much knew what was going on (the sequel's title gives it away), but I still found myself hopeful throughout the book and wishing somehow there was a twist.
Where did that get me, you ask?
Ohhh, somewhere around here:
I can't remember the last time I ugly-cried so much because of a book. Like, the ugliest of cries.
All that being said, this book does deserve the rave reviews. It was amazing and addicting and angering and everything else. I'm scared to read ...more

Very very rarely does a book come along that can fully move me. That is subtle and sweet but so sad.
This is Louisa's story. The story of her losing her job unexpectedly and suddenly, being challenged to take a job as a carer. But this is also Will's story, Nate's, Mrs. Taynor, Patrick, Teena's and many others.
And how Lou's stumble into Will's life changed the world as they all saw it.
It reminds me to be bold just like the letter said. Live life ...more

This book has certainly a tough subject matter to read but was so well written and managed to actually make me laugh out loud at several parts. I loved Louisa and Will's wittiness and constant banter, it was the perfect addition to this poignant story. It was hard not to picture what it would be like if you were put into a situation such as Louisa and Will's. What you would do, if you would actually do anything different. All I know is that they both had an incredibly difficult decision to make

I absolutely loved this book. I stopped reading and put the book down every now and then because I knew every page I read was getting me closer to the end. I didn't want to let these characters go. The last 20 pages or so were torture! I loved the characters, felt their pain, their joy, their sadness... I was pained knowing the story was coming to an end. I know that sounds dramatic, but Jojo Moyes made them so alive for me I felt a part of their story. I am looking forward to seeing the movie;

4.5 stars. Anyone whose read it knows why it can't be 5 stars.
Startling book about the life of a quadriplegic and a quirky girl that is hired to keep him company. Louisa "Lou" Clark isn't skilled in anything but making tea and when her boss closes the tea shop, she is unemployed. Instead of stripping, she applies for a caregiver/companion position for Will Traynor, a bitter quadriplegic.

I did really like this book. I just didn't have a lot of tears at the end like most people because I figured out where the ending was going much earlier in the book so I guess I was prepared.
Wonderfully written. I highly recommend it.
Reread this book in 2019 as an audiobook. Still enjoyed it very much. ...more
