Shelves: read-on-my-kindle, completed-series, 3-stars, young-adult, e-book, fantasy, look-at-the-pretty-cover, romance, 2021
3 stars. This takes place in the same world as the Caraval series and is set after the end of the last book in that trilogy. I found this to be a very solid start to this new series especially with Jacks being one of the main characters. He’s such a grumpy boy and I really like him and all of his moodiness. The heroine here, Evangeline, was fine. She’s a bit too naive for my tastes but I can see potential in her to really grow into her own as the series progresses.
