This book. This... book.
I'm a little upset, right now. I started this book with high expectations. It had an interesting premise: a married nurse from the 1940s gets dropped into 18th century Scotland by a bunch of stones and, presumably, magic. She then had to try and not get killed while finding a way back to said stones so she can get home to her husband. Alright, it's interesting enough that I'll bite. And there was the fact that I have friends that quite enjoy this series.

There was a lot of action, coupled with a lot of really slow parts where I almost gave up on this book. Overall, I liked it. But I doubt I will ever move onto book 2. Also, thank goodness for the built in dictionary in my Kindle - there was a lot of unknown words in this book.
Fantastic story! This had been recommended to me some time ago, & I pretty much steered away from it, and its series, because the books are so big... Began watching the Outlander series (over and over and over!) and really enjoying it, so started reading the book and literally had a hard time putting it down! Love the story line, reading about the Scottish countryside, and the characters are so believable. Was totally pulling for Claire & Jaime!! Will definitely continue reading the series ;) 5
