Shelves: christmas, audiobooks, 2023-reads

I thought I read this book but it wasn't in my Goodreads so I borrowed the audiobook from the library.
As soon as it started, I knew I had indeed listened to this book sometime ago. A quick browse of my library history says December 2021.

I very much liked the book then and I very much like the book now. It will also be great to jump into the sequel right after this with Carmen, Sofia, the children and Mr. McCreadie fresh in my memory.

I enjoyed the story although I did not like Carmen Hogan - what is she? 25 going on 5? What a jealous, self-centred brat she is. I did appreciate her efforts on Mr McCredie's behalf, however, & she did improve as the tale developed.

I loved Mr Eric McCredie, his bookshop & his house full of intriguing things. I was so pleased for him to realise that life still has exciting things to offer, & that he has plenty to offer in return.
