Juliette has a lethal touch, which is why she’s been locked up. Though she’s in a prison, she’s essentially left alone, as the world around her is dying. Until a boy is placed in her cell, and she later receives a proposition to either be a weapon and use her lethal touch in a way she never wanted to, or escape.

This book was so good!! I loved the plot and following Juliette on her journey to find freedom. I’m excited to read more about her and the side characters, and to see where the story goes ...more

Too many metaphors and similes
Too many times that her jaw was "hanging from her shoelace", "around her belly button" etc, like we get it you were shocked

I feel like there wasn't enough about the opposition or the re-establishment and the book kind of ended when that was being explained to us
So obviously next book has to be read but I enjoyed the story anyway

And I need to know more about the mechanics of her powers also ...more

I was going to give this book 3 stars but the second half changed my mind. The writing style isn’t my favorite and does take some getting used to but I like the concept and do want to find out what happens. I listened to the audiobook and DO NOT recommend it. The narrator was Kate Simses. Her voice for the main character was way too high sounded like a little girl and was hard to listen to. Hope the other books have a different narrator otherwise will have to read the physical book.

This would have been a book I really enjoyed if I was still in my teens. But I think I waited too long to jump into this series. But I loved the writing style, how words and sentences were crossed out. I felt the anxiety and confusion😂

This book is SOOOOO overhyped. I have no idea why so many people love this series. The main character, Juliet is the definition of a Mary Sue. I was so annoyed with her and her ridiculous way of describing everything. She is perfect, but she has this crazy power and hates herself. Apparently, she is a model and looks like one, even though she hasn't had a shower or done any care for herself in A YEAR! The ONLY reason this book received 3 stars is because of Kenji and James. I know there’s a lot of hype and mixed reviews on this. Finally a “hyped” book worked for me! I really enjoyed this. It’s very dark, but I love Juliette’s voice, messed up as it is. Couldn’t put it down.
