AMAZING!!! I don't know for the life of my WHY I hadn't read this book until now! I loved just about everything about it: a kickass female heroine, a love interest ignited, a bad guy you love to hate, being unsure of who to trust, action, pacing, gifts, and so much more.

Julette is a 17 year old girl who has an "ability" to kill people (even accidentally) when she touches them. Adam, however, her friend since childhood, is immune to a bad touch from her.

Shatter Me has been on my TBR list since May of last year, if we are honest, probably even longer. I have heard such great things about this series I finally caved and read all the books and novellas.

I was intrigued from the beginning when Tahereh explains in the author's note that the strikethroughs, the repetitive thoughts, and the different font. The author explains that this is to show Juliette's train of thought and how it evolves throughout the story. I LOVED that aspect. I know some peop ...more

To be fair, I listened to the audiobook, and I did not care for the reader. That aside, I thought the pacing of this book was weird. Maybe I missed it, but when I read dystopian, I’d like some background on how the world works. There was more focus on the relationship and less on the dystopian society or the powers they characters have. The writing was also very poetic, so if that’s not your thing, you may not like it.

I liked the idea of the book, but unfortunately, the story lacked for me. The author went overboard on her use of metaphors, and by the end, it just drove me nuts and I wanted it to end. I thought Juliette was a bit weak and whiny over most of the story, but I did enjoy Adam's character. Will I finish the series? Yea, probably, but not anytime soon ...more

I went into this book wanting so much more from it but, it's still a really great book. I'm not sure how much I like Juliette yet but, I have a soft spot for Warner even though he's not the good guy. I don't trust Adam all to well yet so, we will see what happens in the next book! ...more
