Quirky MC. Fun little mystery that felt very "cozy mystery". A plot that has you rooting for the underdogs and really shaking your head at times. I loved the staff and the way the hotel felt like a small village. I loved the little backstories with Gran, the mystery, and the way they trapped the fox.
So glad I read this one!

A huge thank you to the author and publisher for providing an e-ARC via Netgalley. This does not affect my opinion regarding the book.

I enjoyed this refreshing mystery from the viewpoint of a character from the spectrum. Molly was adorable and I cringed at how she misunderstood other people's intentions and motivations. I trusted that everything will be all right in the end though, just like Molly's beloved grandmother had promised her. I look forward to seeing what the author comes out with next. ...more

Molly Gray is a maid at the Regency Grand Hotel. She loves her job because she loves cleaning and restoring order to places. Molly knows she doesn't see the world the way most people do and she has trouble picking up on social cues, she's likely neurodivergent though the book doesn't specify this. One day Molly finds the body of the wealthy Mr. Black in his bed and she soon becomes a suspect in his murder. I mainly liked Molly though sometimes the cleaning descriptions got to be a bit much. A very good debut novel. One can't help but like Molly Gray. I found some of it very irritating - the constant description of Molly's oddness in particular; it was enough for her to show us that she was different. So, while it was very sweet in a way, the triteness became tiresome on occasion.

I enjoyed Molly's supporting characters, & their varied reactions to some of her truisms & non sequiturs. I love that she has found a job that allows her to follow her passion, & friends to help & care for

I enjoyed this. I really liked the characterisation, in some parts more than the narrative. Molly is socially inept but proud of her job at the Regency hotel. Brought up by her Gran to always do right but at times not knowing what that right is. Unconsciously she has become embroiled in nefarious dealings. She trusts the wrong people but is fortunate that the right people are also at hand. As much as it is a closed room murder mystery it is a tale of right triumphing over wrong. It is an excelle ...more

This book was a fun read! An important topic is very properly depicted in that many times those that struggle with social skills get taken advantage of.

Molly is one of these people…she is a hard worker but struggles with catching on to a lot of the euphemisms used in everyday language. Her Gran works diligently at teaching her how to recognize when one is being truthful or sarcastic.

Different characters are introduced and if you don’t pay attention in the beginning you may miss out on some imp

I loved this book. I loved Molly so much. I can't decide if she has autism or OCD but I do believe she had a mental disability of some kind. Having raised kids with autism, OCD, Bipolar and depression I recognized Molly's need to have everything neat and orderly and in the right order. Both my 3rd son is OCD and my 6th son (my baby) is on the spectrum and between the two of them I spotted Molly's disability right away.

I loved the mystery aspect of the book and the way Molly sees things in the wo

What an great story. Looking forward to reading the next book in the series.
It's hard not to fall in love with Molly. And dislike Wilbur for stealing her money. Her grandmother is sweet and Molly herself is such an interesting character. I enjoyed all of the character.
