The It Girl by Ruth Ware was one of my most anticipated reads. I love this author's writing style. I also love that the author takes a stab at dark academia which is a favorite with her brand of psychological thriller. I particularly loved the the before sections set during the main character's days at Oxford. I wouldn't quite call this one her best but it's still a must read if you're a fan her work. As always, I'm looking forward to seeing what Ruth Ware does next.

3.25 stars- The narrator was amazing, and overall the story was good. But I knew who the killer was very early on. I didn't know how or the why, but I knew it. So I did like finding out the how and why, plus I thought the MC being pregnant at the time of the time when the story starts to be interesting, added an extra element. But overall just meh.

I haven't really enjoyed any of the books by this author since The woman in cabin 10. No idea why I keep picking up her books still but this one was definitely better than the two previous ones I read.
The dual timeline kept the pace exciting and the mystery was very smartly written. I didn't guess the truth till I read it and so I enjoyed it more!
Hannah as the awkward student who is befriended by rich and glamorous April and as the young, pregnant wife a decade later, who is struggling to let go ...more

Another traveling book down, and this one was just okay. I feel drawn to mystery/thriller books, and I have been wanting to read Ruth Ware for awhile. I read another of her books several years ago, and even though this one was just okay, I have more of her books that I am planning on reading.
The book brings duel timelines, as the main character is challenged with the idea that an incident that happened earlier on in her life isn't all that it seemed to be, the wrong man may have been convicted, ...more
