Shelves: time-travel

This was a thought provoking read with an original take on time travel. It was also pretty informative as I knew next to nothing about the Kennedy assassination apart from its changing the world. People of that time always ask: What were you doing when you heard the news of his death? Well, I wasn't alive, I'm not American and the context of global politics of that time- were not mine. What can I say about this book except to sing its praise? I am not a particular fan of Stephen King, so I kept putting this novel aside as it was so long... what a mistake!

Travelling through time, the MC tries to change history by intervening in an iconic event, the death of JFK?
This book is full of suspense, at times funny/romantic and allways thought provoking. It kept me wondering a lot about all the ‘what if...’s’ in the world.

I was a bit intimidated by the size of the book and the author of the book, but I'm history/thriller/mystery geek, so I decided to take a chance. I'm glad I did. Mr. King did not disappoint me at all. I was nervous that I'd get bored and disinterested somewhere among the 800+ pages, but I didn't. This was a really good story. ...more

I enjoyed this a lot more than I thought I would. This is the first time I've ever read Stephen King. Perhaps put off by the fact that I just can't read horror as it freaks me out too much. Well I felt that the middle of the book dragged a little, in the end I couldn't put the book down to read the last 300 pages or so. I can't wait to read more Stephen King. ...more

this story is abut a teacher who is asked to go back in time to change the events leading up to the assassination of JFK and the effects it would cause in doing so.

this story really made me think about what I would do if I could go back and change things. Ive come to realize that as much as we love and miss the ones that we lost, by going back and changing things to have them back, would alter the things that we love and cherish now. it makes my belief that things happen for a reason and when t ...more
