As far as trashy vampire romance books go, this wasn’t bad. I had watched the adapted series years ago and always meant to read the books.

Sookie Stackhouse has a gift. One she considers more like a curse. During a typical night working as a waitress at Merlotte’s, she encounters her first vampire. Their love ensues while mysterious murders begin to appear all over Bon Temps, Louisiana.
