I love the citizens of Virgin River. This book was no different. The main couple here was Paul and Vanessa. Paul has been in love with Vanessa for years, but he put it on the back burner since she fell in love with and married his best friend.

After Matt passed away and Paul was there for Vannie through her grief and childbirth. He feelings for him have segued into love. With the understanding that life is too short to waste, she hopes that Paul feels the same. We, the readers, know how he feels ...more

I dont usually go for romance kind of books. This series just brings the drama and crazy and small town love. It makes me want to just jump right in and live here. Carr has great character development and makes you love everyone and you get so invested that you laugh with everyone and cry. I cant wait till the next one.

This is the story of Paul and Vanni. Matt, Vanni's husband and Paul's best friend was killed in action. Paul had been in love with Vanni since he and Matt met her but Paul didn't speak up fast enough and she and Matt met, fell in love, married, got pregnant and Matt was sent back overseas. After Matt was killed, Paul was afraid to tell Vanni how he felt. A lot of misunderstandings ensue but, of course, they finally get together. There was a lot happening in this book. Vanny irritated me with her overly judgmental ways in the beginning after everything they have been through. We see more challenges with some of the main characters in Virgin River. We see new romances forming with some of the previous characters. Can't wait to see what is next in Virgin River. ...more

This is the story of Vanessa and Paul. And we get to visit all the familiar characters in Virgin River as well as some new ones. In my opinion this romance was somewhat rushed. Not from Paul's point of view obviously, because he's been in love with Vanni for years already. The author could have given Vanni more time to cope with Matt's death and the birth of their son. All the men were so good and sensitive. And everyone wanted to get married and have lots of babies. This irritated me at times. ...more

I love this series. But sometimes I miss the original characters and wish they were featured more. It’s great to meet all of the new characters, but I love Mel & Jack and Paige & Preacher the best. Loved the ending…..
