What Members Thought

My first, but not my last Taylor Jenkins Reid book! She lived up to the hype. It was a bit of a slow start, but I'd heard such great things about it that I knew I'd hang in there. I settled in to the pace of the book and the amazing storytelling fairly quickly. Great character development. Maybe we'll get to hear more about them someday.

I don't think this was quite as brilliant as Evelyn Hugo, but I do believe that Reid has a knack for family epics. This book was compelling and moving. I loved the party, the social drama, the complexity of everyone in the story, even the bit characters. It was moving, but a bit more surface level than Evelyn Hugo which ripped my heart out and basically consumed me.
Overall, I enjoyed it. And now I need her more recent book about the tennis player since I'm curious. ...more
