Ugh I am so disappointed by this. The title alone made me think it'd be creepy. I was hoping for a good teen slasher, maybe a little cheesy and campy. I got a romance with a murdery backdrop, it's not even a cute enough romance to interest me.

This book is literally Ollie and Makani making out or having sex with some murders thrown in. The main characters weren't even scared enough for a small town with a serial killer on the loose. (view spoiler) Ugh I am so disappointed by this. The title alone made me think it'd be creepy. I was hoping for a good teen slasher, maybe a little cheesy and campy. The victims are people we don't know and not part of Makani's circle. I didn't even care about them, there was no shock or sadness and I couldn't even try to guess who'd be next. Zero suspense. We found out who the killer was in the middle of the book. (view spoiler) The killer's reasoning? Stupid. I kept hoping for a twist, especially since we knew so soon who it was. Alas I was let down, which is the one thing I can count on from this book.

Good lord Makani's "dark past" that's constantly hinted at is so stupid. (view spoiler) I literally can't roll my eyes hard enough. (view spoiler)

If you want a non-scary 'horror' book with no suspense, immature characters, and a cringey relationship then this is for you. Otherwise, i'd stay clear. ...more
