I started to read the classics, believe it or not I didn't like them in high school. As yu grow you see them with a differnt eye.
Emma, by Jane Austen, was one of the most enjoyable books I have read recently. Definitely not the masterpiece that "Pride and Prejudice" is. While the same wit is there, this story is slow-moving (and reviewers at the time the book came out even remarked on this, as I learned from researching the book a little!) The story is good, but this is just one of those stories that just lends itself more to a visual medium -- I would recommend watching it as a miniseries or a film, as the story works really well on screen. I did not enjoy this Jane Austen book as well as I have all of the others I have read. It is probably because it is not the romance that the others are. Emma is probably the most "real" of Austen's characters; unfortunately, few read Austen to find reality.
