After a good few months up and down reading I’ve finally finished the beginning of what I know to be a fantasy epic.
The story is compelling enough that I could have read the whole thing in one sitting- but also simple enough I could leave for a week or so and know exactly where I was- no complications. The characters (though super annoying people) are enjoyable and interesting and the pacing is great. Amazing attention to detail, you really see the page play in your head. They say that every good fantasy book starts with a map, and this book has multiple, so if you’re like me and love to be able to follow the progress of your party, then this might interest you. 3 stars seems a bit harsh for this book but I couldn’t justify a 4 star with the lack of memorable moments and that wonky and confusing ending.
