I finally finished!!! Great start to this epic journey of 15 books 😳. Looking forward to continuing with group from the Two Rivers.
haters will say it’s a rip off of tolkien and to them i say they lack vision. it’s clear that George RR Martin took a LOT from both Tolkien and Jordan but it doesn’t mean it’s a copy. same thing with wheel of time/eye of the world. there’s a reason tolkien was called the grandfather of fantasy but jordan perfected it. the world is rich and dense with characters who are layered and nuanced. robert jordan has a tendency to be a bit verbose but when it comes to this first book it’s barely an issue

I loved this book. The story, the characters, the flow. It was truly a beginning of a fantasy epic.
Lots of world and character setting up. Lots to keep track of but I'm willing to go to the next one which is good 🙂
