I loved this book! So fantastic.. and easy to read. I loved the world building and the characters and how it kept us moving so well thru the book.. I have found another favorite series and world in this!
I started reading this one years ago and gave up at the second chapter or so - perhaps it was too soon after I've read Tolien and the parallels, heavy borrowing, and similar themes were too obvious for me to enjoy. I pushed through this year and kind of liked the overall universe, enough to be interested in other books. It helps that people noted in their reviews that the first book is not the greatest, but that the series improves and moves away from the heavy Tolkien influences.

What an amazing first novel, I can now believe all the hype that I have seen from the thousands of people that have read this whole series, I cannot wait to start the next book!

It's like reading a more suspenseful Tolkein. Excellent read, I hope the following books keep up the pacing and richness of the story.
