I’m sure this will be met with some dislike. But this book just didn’t do it for me. The description had me at Westport; I’m from Washington and have been to Westport several times. I had high hopes about that, but that’s about all that I liked.

There was a typhoon that hits the town…the Washington coast gets nasty storms, but the fact that Tessa Bailey used a typhoon was too far fetched…

I don't know why I keep reading TB's books, her style of writing is not my cup of tea (expecially the sex scenes, which make me cringe) and I end up with the same thoughts after every book.
A pleasant story, likable characters, some unfortunate phrasing in dialogues and overall very forgettable.
I'll admit, though - this one was the best of TB books that I read so far. ...more

Shelves: read-in-2022

This reminded me of the 80s romance novels I grew up reading in that I rolled my eyes too much but still had fun reading it. Thick, thick, ridiculous romance. If you’re into that then you’ll love it, but it doesn’t reinvent any romance tropes.
