DNF about 35%.

I actually really liked book one in this series. In that book we meet Liv, who is Thea's sister. She seems kinda bitter and angry in that book and I found her a bit annoying but I thought, as she is the MC in book 2, we would get to know her a bit better and her negativity would be explored and explained.

I'm not sure if that happens eventually but if it does, it sure didn't happen soon enough for me to actually want to finish reading her story.

Liv is just incredibly childish and DNF about 35%.

Liv is just incredibly childish and antagonistic toward...everyoneit seems, but especially toward Mack and not sure why. I know in book one of this series he committes the mortal sin of eating her Chinese leftovers without asking and for some reason she treats him as if he has murdered her puppy or something. In this book she starts out but still disliking him for that. It seems like overkill. Then he does a real thing that, while an accident, does have a negative impact on her which shoots her negativity toward him into like cataclysmic proportions and it jist come across as annoying and childish especially as everything we get from him is actually pretty friendly and supportive which just makes her look worse.

Also she's incredibly sexist. This is an intentional characteristic given to her bu the author as, in the story Mack points out that she is being sexist. At one point she questions his manhood because basically his hands are clean and he complained of pain after being injured. I get the author was going for enemies to lovers here but I think Liv's attitude just made her come across as surly and, again, I found it annoying.

The fact that in the midst of all this immaturity she also basically tries to accomplish her mission of taking down a man who is sexually harassing/assaulting his employees by trying to coerse a woman/victim into accepting her help by victim blaming just really turned me off to her and I couldn't continue.

I get if I had stuck around she'd probably learned to trust and, I don't know, talked about how her tragic childhood had molded her personality and there would have been much rejoicing and happily ever afters and justice for all. But I just couldn't. Maybe you can.

These books seem to basically be stand alone more or less so I'll probably check out book three to see if it gets better again. ...more

I just love this series! So fun and light hearted and a touch of spice.

TRIGGER WARNING This one does heavily surround sexual assault in The work place so if this is something that impacts you please proceed with caution.

I absolutely love this series and I loved Mack. That man was down bad and obsessed and I loved the entire thing. I could relate to Liv and her female rage throughout the book, but she also made me angry the other times. I don't know, there was just something about her. She was more tolerable than she was in Gavin and Thea's book. All in all, I need to keep reading this series ASAP. ...more
