This book was so enjoyable! The dialogue was on point. The characters were lovable. The gender-bent plot was great.

Hannah and Jack slowly fall for each other over the course of the novel; she’s a badass bodyguard that may not have all her ducks in a row when it comes to her personal life, but professionally?—she shines. Jack is an attractive A-list celeb who struggles with his own personal demons, but is damn likable.

The Bodyguard was my first Katherine Center book, and I'll definitely be reading more from her!

Hannah is an Executive Protection Agent hired to protect celebrity Jack Stapleton while he's home visiting his family in Texas. Jack's mom is sick, and he doesn't want to add additional stress to her life while he's visiting by explaining that Jack needs a bodyguard to protect him from a stalker, so he asks Hannah to be his pretend girlfriend. This was a sweet one. I laughed, I cried. I saw it all play out in my head like clunkier, sweeter Mr. And Mrs Smith. Surprisingly, no spice.

Hannah is a bodyguard who has had a rough time. Her mother dies and her boyfriend (and work colleague) breaks up with her. She is assigned to guard the famous actor, Jack Stapleton, who has also had a difficult time. He's home to visit his mother, who is about to have cancer surgery. My Grade B-

The Good and the not so Good:
-The chemistry was on point, but could have used more kissing. I wasn't expecting a full on sex scene, but the book needed more spice.
-I was hoping that there was going to be more threats for her to protect Jake from. The book needed more action.
-I loved Jakes parents! Especially the mom!
