Ali Hazelwood is truly a gem. Is she the best writer around? Definitely not. Is her writing often cringe and painfully millennial? Oh absolutely. Does she write the same thing in a different font every book? Debatable, but ultimately yes. And yet I still manage to love every single book I read by her. I genuinely don’t know how she does it.

As most Hazelwood books go we have enemies to lovers that turns out not to be enemies because the he’s usually in love with her, a specific field of scie *4.5

Ali Hazelwood is truly a gem. Is she the best writer around? Definitely not. Is her writing often cringe and painfully millennial? Oh absolutely. Does she write the same thing in a different font every book? Debatable, but ultimately yes. And yet I still manage to love every single book I read by her. I genuinely don’t know how she does it.

As most Hazelwood books go we have enemies to lovers that turns out not to be enemies because the he’s usually in love with her, a specific field of science that’s surprisingly well researched, a problematic FMC, a brooding bordering often on red flag MMC, and an overwhelming amount of pop culture references. The FMC Bee gets a job leading a group of scientists on a very important project…at least she thinks she does. That is until she figures out that she’s co-leading this assignment with her grad school arch nemesis Levi. Levi is surly and brooding, and Bee thinks he hates her guts. He goes out of his way to be an asshole to her, and she thinks he’s sabotaging her chances of leading the project.

This was overall a really great time. Bee is often times a frustrating FMC, and despite her being smart, doesn’t always use her brain. Levi on the other hand made up for Bee’s poor thinking skills in pretty much every department. This man is obsessed with Bee. Bordering on red flag energy, but it’s ok because he’s cute and fictional. He’d do anything for this her, and I loved seeing him make her fall head over heels in love too.

These two just overall had so much in common, and all their banter was great! The spice scenes were also so hot, this is my 2nd favorite Hazelwood in terms spice (with obviously Bride being on top). I’m really sad I’m almost done with all of Ali’s books because they’re just so cute and fun. I have another full length novel and her novella set, and I’m then finished reading everything she’s released /:

So first of all, I would like to mention that I do see the similarities to The Love Hypothesis. I do, really.
But I still loved this. I liked Bee and Levi and their story, I could not and did not want to put this book down, but, you know, real life and everything. I could guess most of the things that happened, but it did not change the experience in a weird way. And I loved Ali Hazelwoods writing.

This was such a great novel!
First of all, I loved Bee and her personality. It was relatable to wish for stability in her life. She was strong and resilient, giving her choice of profession. This was the kind of women-empowering novel that I needed at the moment. Her not loving to exercise was also super relatable. She was cool and collected even when it came down the the ending. Now, don't get me wrong, there were a few times where I thought that she acted like a child, but other than that ...more
