okay it's 18 days later and i'm not sure how to write this review. this book broke me. i was worried i would lose the emotional part of the story since i read it over 3 weeks in small chunks, but that wasn't a problem.

This is the kind of book that can be life changing. I love every single one of these characters. Leisel, Rudy, Max, Rosa, Hans, Michael, Ilsa Hubberman, and more. I cried six times reading this book- harder than I’ve cried in a long time. This book breaks and builds- five stars a million times over.
