I really liked this book in the beginning but about half way through the book things started slowing down with the occasional thing happening but nothing big.
I liked Ember but wasn't a fan of her. I think she was meant to be strong but ended up being kind of whiny sometimes. Her relationship with Chase was interesting because of so many ups and downs.
I know this is a series but not sure if I will read on. Each chapter ended with a cliffhanger but the ending really didn't which was disappointing. ...more

I did think this was a rather decent start to a series. The dystopian set up was solid and sort of commented on our times (see all current political rhetoric for what I'm talking about) and I did find it interesting.
I just wished I loved the main character as much as I liked everything else. She was just...flat. I think part of it is no time was spent showing us who this girl is. I'm hoping the next book will spend less time on the run and more time on character developement so I actually grow ...more
