When you write contemporary fiction, sometimes when authors write about the daily life at school of a teenager it doesn't feel authentic. But with this book I feel like the author (probably because she was a school librarian) really hit it out of the park. Not only were the characters in the story real, they didn't sound like they were older or doing things teenagers really wouldn't do.
