I loved this second book of the Small Town Series even more than the first. Maybe because it felt so much like going home to the small town I grew up in (which long ago grew up to be a different place), and finding those characters from the first book still making their ways through the conundrums of life today. Madness in Small Towns is a thoroughly satisfying sequel to The News in Small Towns. The opening chapter contains one of the cleverest set-ups for a mystery that I've read, and I read a lot of mysteries. Not only is the mystery in this book intriguing, but we learn a lot more about the two protagonists, Sue-Ann and Gina.
