This is an incredible, atmospheric book; when i was finished, I couldn't pick up another for a while because I wanted to linger. What do you bargain for in an impossible situation? How does one leave a mark when one is destined to be forgotten? What is the meaning of art? All I know is: I will not forget Addie.

This book was clever but it didn't give the satisfaction of a fantasy since once the premise of the curse was set it followed dual historical fiction and present day love story lines. The word palimpsest was all over the place to the point of being annoying but the examination of art and inspiration was pretty cool.
