I’m a fan of Wolk’s earlier books. She creates such interesting characters. I like the creativity and intelligence of the female protagonists. This book tells the story of Ellie, living in a cabin in the mountains of Maine during the Great Depression. Her father was hurt in an accident, and she is determined to help him. Along the way, she also helps others.
