This gorgeous book was one I had passed by a few times on the shelves and didn't find myself taken with the title, so I passed it by. But, when I read a glowing review from library friends, I picked it right up and loved it so, so much. It's the story of Aven, a girl born with no arms. Lovely upbeat story of a young girl born without arms who deals with what life has to offer & helps other peers with problems to get some of her resilience. Great MS start of year book with changing school and trying to fit in

If you are looking for a book with the same feel as Wonder then this would be a good choice. Aven is a very able middle-schooler who was born without arms. At the beginning of the book she moves with her adoptive family to Arizona where the family will run a wild west theme park. The move means that Aven will have to attend a new school, make new friends, endure the stares and curiosity as she uses her feet to turn pages of a school book or hold a fork or countless other things.
