This book packs a big punch in an extremely well written way. Barbara Dee completely "gets" 7th graders and the nuances of friendships and alliances, the ability and inability to talk to adults and parents and how HUGE disruptions in the status quo can be as everything physical, emotional and relationship -wise shifts and reshift.

If I could give this book 10 stars, I would. An incredibly important book for middle schoolers, this novel deals with a group of boys who are finding ways to bother a girl by brushing up against her, finding ways to convince her to hug them and generally making her uncomfortable. It broke my heart over and over bc she was being told that she was overreacting by the boys and her friends, yet she was deeply troubled by this, and the boys turned it into a game with her.
