This is an emotional powerhouse of a middle grade novel. Coyote and her dad, Rodeo, travel the states in a refurbished bus, trying to leave their tragic past behind. The supporting cast of characters is unique and relatable. I cried throughout the end of the book.

What a doozy of a ride with this book. So touching, so difficult at times but so uplifting at the same time. Coyote and her dad roam around in an old yellow bus avoiding the heartache of what happened to them. Along the way, they pick up a variety of amazing passengers. So much to love about this story of heartache. Perfect for upper elementary or middle school.
