I ordered the sequel about 100 pages from the end because I already knew I couldn't wait to read it! The driving force of the book is definitely the fantasy political intrigue and the relationship between Crier and Ayla (I am a sucker for sapphic enemies to lovers and a handmaiden/royalty plot). The worldbuilding is very cool and the 'robots created by humans take over and humans are now subservient to them' plotline never felt tired or like a repetition of something done before.
