This book is amazing. There was hardly ever a slow point, the action and the plot just kept going, which is so important to me in a book so that I don't lose interest.
Plot twists and turns exist, and reading it you're almost sucked into the story and feeling the desperation of the whole Hunger Games situation. Imagine being chosen in your teen years to be trapped on all sides in an arena to fight over 20 other kids to death. It's brutal. The capital is cruel.

This is a widely-known and loved story about a girl who cared for her sister enough to change the very nation she lived in. But what I really loved about Katniss was her humanity. She went through unthinkable traumas and Suzanne Collins didn't try to make her "the perfect fictional heroine" that goes through horrors unscathed, and I think that was part of the appeal of why people are drawn to this book.
