I think booktok bamboozeled me on this one. I thought this would be an easy addictive read... it ended up causing me weeks of annoyance and torture. I had to actively battle with myself to not dnf this, and as someone who never lets myself dnf books... this was actually painful to get through. The plot was dull and the characters didn't yield any likable elements that had me invested. The conflict poorly executed and the world building simply didn't capture my attention.
