Sarah Addison Allen is amazing. I LOVED Garden Spells. That being said, The Peach Keeper was good. I liked the characters, and I liked the story. It was a good read, but it wasn't amazing. I couldn't really tell you why, but it probably had something to do with the fact that I didn't take any of the character's problems seriously, except maybe Sebastian. I didn't understand Willa's ostracism (and it's not because I'm unable identify with ostracism—I can), probably because it wasn't reinforced. A

Loved this book. It was my first book by Sarah Addison Allen, and it was wonderful. For some reason I had resisted reading her books, don't know why, but my friend Amy loved them and highly recommended them. I'm glad I finally read one of her books, now I want to read all of them. I loved the characters and the story about the grandmothers.

I love Sarah Addison Allen...magical writer!
8/9/12 I loved this book--lighthearted, yet packed a powerful punch on the subject of friendship and personal growth! I kept wishing I could share it with BIG GAP writer, Adriana Trigiani, whose rich descriptors of North Carolina would fit in very nicely with SAA's novel!
Addison Allen's THE PEACH KEEPER was a wonderful read, with a little bit of whimsy, mystery, and all heart!

I REALLY wanted to Love this book. I was enamored by the ghostly, magical elements. The problem I had with the story was that I found Paxton and Willa to just be boring. Their regular elements of their lives were very hard for me to get through. I really thought the ending was disappointing. I felt like it just reminded us of points we had already discovered and didn't really inform us of anything we didn't already know. I would have loved to have found out why Tucker Devlin was the way he was.

I love how this author works a little magic into each story and still manages to keep it a story abut people, their foibles, loves, and woes. I think I've read every one of her books and have never been disappointed

this book had my favorite things, a love storey (or 2), a mystery, and a touch of history... I loved every minute of it ...
there were 2 quotes that I really enjoyed and were both kind of a theme to the book, I think I will always keep them with me
"happiness is a risk, if you're not a little scared you're doing it wrong"
"if you make room in you're life good things will enter"
I was very surprised with this book I found on the bargain shelf :) ...more

Another good book. Seemed to have less whimsy but still had the touch of magic in the story. Love that! Different character names too....Paxton and Willa. Looking forward to her next book.
