I am not a fan of fantasy, but I LOVE Sarah Addison Allen's wonderful little novels!! Her stories have that tiny touch of whimsy, more like a sprinkling of the finest quality of pixie dust, that make them sweetly fun. I think, truly, she deserves her own genre for her marvelously light touch with this--they are books so special, so engaging and wonderful, that I anxiously await each new release. Lovely, rich & sentimental in the best possible way. To say I loved it is an understatement. It is full of magical whimsy, of that feeling of freedom you get at the beginning of summer long beyond the time in life when school holidays are your reality. SAA writes settings that are characters by their own merits.
Sarah Addison Allen's books are my guilty little pleasures of reading! Sarah crafts stories that are delightfully enchanting and simply magical; her inventiveness and imagination are infectious. I purposely read this one slow to savor the flavor. Thank you Sarah!
