Our little Bay is now a young woman in High School, Claire has a young daughter, Mariah, and has taken a turn in her career and is making candy instead of catering and Sydney is still doing hair and married to Henry but is struggling with other aspects of her life., and Evanelle seems as spunky as ever but her health isn’t good but I still loved her she always has the best lines!

Oops, I finished this over the weekend but forgot to update! I enjoyed it, but not as much as Garden Spells. Garden Spells was just pure magic, and First Frost had a strong dose of reality added in. I think I will enjoy a re-read in the future, more than my first read-though, since I'll have less anxiety about what was going to happen.

I adored Garden Spells and so was curious find out what the Waverlys had been up to since then. Sadly, this one didn't quite hit all the same/right notes that its predecessor did. First Frost is a follow-up to Garden Spells. It starts about 10 years later. Claire is married to Trey and is making candy - she has started a candy business. Sydney is married to Henry and owns a beauty shop -the White Door - and wants to give Henry a son bur so far has been unable to. Evanelle - the giver of strange things - is still there, but is older and having health issues

Amazing! Not a surprise, since I love Sarah Addison Allen. I’m so glad she returned to the Waverley family characters. It was so fun to see them grow and to learn more about Bay. It’s a shame that I read Sarah Addison Allen’s books faster than she can write them. After finishing a book, I immediately want the next one. They’re definitely worth waiting for, however! So good.
