Garden Spells was a magical book. This book continued the story in a sweet way, but nothing can compare to the first book. Still worth reading, though!

Like mist creeping through the woods, Sarah Addison Allen’s writing weaves into your memory leaving delight in its wake. You find yourself underlining quotes and starring passages to savor later.

When reading First Frost, in the beginning, you feel just as out of sorts and anxious as the characters. Things are not quite right in the Waverly world. But by the time you time you finish the story, you are once again enveloped in the magic of their world. I love the female relationships in this book, ...more

I'm giving this 3 stars simply because I loved the first book and the characters so much. Reading this was like spending pleasant few hours with people you love, but not learning anything new about them.The plot felt flimsy, there was no real substance to any of it and it just felt rushed and unfinished.
