I don't really know how to feel right now. I'm definitely sad and my face feels funny because my tears are drying. The book was definitely emotional, which is what I expected. However, I kind of went into it expecting Sam to play a bigger role or just be more present. Sure, he was absolutely substantial to the plot and we learned quite a bit about him, but I found that he was always very flat on the phone during the phone calls. Booktok had me excited with this book. I had quite high expectations with this and couldn’t wait to read this because so many were others felt they were moved and touched with the sad story.

The book mainly focuses on Julie and Sam’s relationship but after he dies, Julie struggles to move on and is in constant denial that she can actually move forward. It focuses on how the grief has impacted Julie but also how it’s impacted those ...more
