"David looked at me then, the regret plain on his face. No matter what I said, we both knew the hard truth. We do our best, We try, And usually, it makes no difference at all.
So this was better than the first book, but I actually liked Alina less. And I'm not sure why. I think it might be because Nikolas came onto the stage and wiped the floor from everybody with his amazing character. Compared to him, Alina was just a whiny, annoying child.

Great book, so much suspense. Can't wait to see what happens next. Of course, Nikolai makes this book much better. #forevernikolaistan

2.5 stars but rounded up. Better than the first book (S&B had an original premise but bad follow-through) but still not fab. Warning: occasional spoilers below.

Mal is so insecure and annoying. It's a shame because I kind of liked him as a character in the first book. But this was the most middle-book syndrome-ish book to ever exist. It was all very filler and I wish we had more drama or any kind of progression whether it be with the characters or any kind of plot progression.
