I am so glad I finally picked this one up because I didn’t want to put it down (it helped that my library loan was about to expire, but still). This book felt different than most of the other books I’ve read. Iris Winnow and Roman Kitt have my heart and I can’t wait to see how book two turns out! Oh. My. Goodness. THIS BOOK. If I wasn’t reading it in front of other people I would’ve started bawling. It was so so good. The slow-burn enemies to lovers is great. The portrayal of war and grief is so powerful. THE ENDING THOUGH 😭 the next book can’t come soon enough!! This might be one of my favorite reads of the year?!???????!
