this book is magical, vivid, original, mysterious and simply painfully beautiful. i loved it from the very first word on the very first page.

This novel is so rich and full of life, and life lessons. The description of the marsh is phenomenal. I haven't came across a novel this full of lush imagery in a very long time. Interwoven into it is a story of abandonment, forgiveness, betrayal, secrets, and growing up. It had me hooked to the end.

Wow - wow,, the furst third or so of thr book was very boring to me but once it started picking up it was so much better. If you are struggling I definitely recommend pushing through! But the second half of the book was amazing, especially the court scene oh wow!
