Wow! That is the only word that can some up how I felt after finishing this book.
I was very conscious of the mixed reviews on Goodreads before I read this book, but decided not to let that stop me since this has been on my book list for quite some time. Well, I'm unbelievably happy I decided to pick it up because I can confidently say it is one of the best books I've ever read!

the book was good it just wasn’t my favourite especially because the author is white yet used the n word multiple times and i understand that it was set in a time when it was almost normal but i think the author probably knew better than to use that language. ASIDE from that it did have me holding my breath and was quite the page turner. 🤓🤓🤓

Wow - wow,, the furst third or so of thr book was very boring to me but once it started picking up it was so much better. If you are struggling I definitely recommend pushing through! But the second half of the book was amazing, especially the court scene oh wow!

A beautiful story that touches on abandonment, survival, trust and love. Wonderfully written with an ending that left me shocked. This book was quickly added to my “books I think everyone should read” shelf.
