What Members Thought

Wow. And I thought Steven King was twisted. There is almost no way to review Gone Girl without spoilers, but I will say this book redefined the concept of "contrived" for me. This is not my favorite genre, nor my favorite of it's kind. I can't deny, however, that it didn't compel me, intrigue me, keep me engaged. I can't give it more than 3 stars, but I also can't give it less.

I found "Gone Girl" by Gillian Flynn to be an extremely clever novel. Throughout the book, she takes you on twists and turns that keep you second guessing your assumptions the entire way! While I did not find any of the characters in the book to be likable, in fact, each one had series character flaws, and no visible moral fibers, it still made for very good reading.

I was addicted to it until the very end. I wasn't happy entirely with the ending, though. I guess this ending leaves room for a sequel, but I would have preferred to see a little justice served.

Have you ever been involved with a narcissist?

Have you ever dreamed of freedom from your life? From your responsibilities?
How do you escape?

Loved, loved, loved this book! It grabbed me from the beginning and still hasn't let me go! What a roller coaster ride! At turns convinced the husband killed his wife, then convinced he definitely didn't do it, the ending left me breathless. What a fun read!
