JK is not a GREAT writer, she is a BEST SELLING author, who came up with the genius idea to combine boarding school japes, magic, evil step parents and a mystery to solve all in one series of books, which encouraged a whole raft of kids to read LONG books and also got their parents (me) queuing for the next instalment. So let's keep things in proportion here, shall we?

Great book!!
I was pleasantly surprised by how much I enjoyed it. At first, I was a bit hesitant with the plot device of the victim being a supermodel (poor things truly do not receive adequate coverage in other media outlets), but it worked well and hit all the cliffhanger marks.
For me, a good detective novel keeps me turning the pages and surprises me at the end with the final outcome. This book definitely did both!
