Just a warning to survivors of rape: there are graphic, violent descriptions of rape in this book. I am a survivor myself and this book gave me flashbacks and stirred up a lot of old, difficult emotions for me. Krakauer is a journalist and he writes factually, without sugarcoating or euphemisms. So be prepared.
