This folklore explains the cultural traditions of Japanese and American people that are used while eating. There are characters of two cultural groups present in the story and readers are introduced to different lifestyles. The story has a rich plot and the illustrations are appropriate and also interesting to look at. This story is developmentally appropriate for elementary-aged children and can be used in all elementary grade levels to discuss different aspects of the story.
