I had never heard of this book until I started doing this project. This book provides children/parents with a different view of playing with dolls. In the story, William's parents did not want him to have a doll, and kept buying him other "boy toys". William would play with and master these toys, and still want a doll. William's grandmother ends up stepping in, and buying him a doll. William's grandmother tells his parents that playing with dolls does not make him a girl, but a nurturing father.
