I didn't cry and I didn't care. I couldn't get attached to these characters and I felt nothing at the end. I don't know what it was, but this book just didn't do it for me.

Ok... 2.5 stars. This really didn't live up to the hype for me.

Geez, they weren't lying when they said this book would kick you in the feels and make you turn into a gloop of tears and broken dreams did they?

Well I can personally confirm that at 11:30 at night I was an ABSOLUTE MESS. I full on BINGE READ this novel and cried about it in my dreams. The ending was just something... a real something that ripped my heart out and tore it into pieces. It was no help that Adam Silvera was laughing as he threw my poor (already tortured by too many books) soul onto Geez, they weren't lying when they said this book would kick you in the feels and make you turn into a gloop of tears and broken dreams did they?

No... I'm not exaggerating because that is how I feel.

I picked out this book wondering if they were going to die at the end as the title suggests and was very engrossed in the story by the end of it. I just didn't want it to end! It was both parts lighthearted and poignant and 100% bone crushing. I just loved all of it!

It was about two boys one called Mateo and the other named Rufus who get text messages saying that they would die in the next 24 hours. Using a friend-tinder called Last Friend they meet up and decide to spend time together on their "last day" they go out and start living ironically on the day that they are going to die.

The writing was like eating Cadbury Oreo Chocolate... BLISSFUL!!! I LOVED THE WRITING and even when I was just 50 pages in I was already bracing myself (holding a melting Toblerone) for when someone dies (as the title suggests) or if something bad was going to happen because even though nothing DID happen (during those pages) I was still sobbing for no reason whatsoever.

I know this is a short review but I don't have much to say about this book without spoiling anything. I just urge you all to read it and preferably without fingers sticky from having a melted Toblerone bar in them. Now, I am SUPER EXCITED to read What if it's us? with Becky Albertalli because by the way Adam Silvera is going he could potentially become one of my favourite writers ever which would make me sob EVEN MORE in their book coming out in a few days!!

It also should be mentioned their book is LGBTQ+ and so is this one. And you know how I feel about LGBTQ+ couples in books... they literally are the best (looks at Simon and Blue... looks at Magnus and Alec) so basically what I'm trying to say here is that this is a recipe for disaster (in terms of me keeping my sanity and also keeping me breathing) wish me the best of luck because I (and you) will be needing it.
