The first time I read this, I thought it was alright. After watching the first four episodes of the Tv series and then re-reading this book, I have completely fallen in love with the characters and world. Sure, Alina is kind of a bland character, but I can't help but love her, and her friendship with Mal always puts a smile on my face. I trust wish that Alexei lived. He seemed like a cool character. But that has nothing to do with my point.

“I’ve spent my life searching for a way to make things right. You’re the first glimmer of hope I’ve had in a long time” — yup, Darkling is your usual sad bOi. LOL JOKE, I LOVE YOU DARKLING LMAO LET ME BE ALINA.

It was a rollercoaster ride of emotions I guess. Like first it was hard to get there, but omg. The plot, characters, the magic system is just *chef’s kiss*

Sin duda lo que más me gustó de este libro fue el mundo que Leigh Bardugo construyó además del sistema de magia, los personajes se me hicieron un poco básicos pero en general me gustaron, el personaje de Mal no logró convencerme y varias de sus actitudes me molestaron. (3.5 stars) i have mixed feelings about this book but overall i think it was good. i read the last 50 pages today on less than four hours of sleep so let’s see how well i remember it. i probably liked it because it reminds me of so many books that i like. there’s red queen, harry potter, percy jackson, and the selection all in there. one thing- i HATE mal and alina (the couple, not the characters, although i do not really like mal). even though they have all the tropes i love (childhood friends ...more
